Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani Alleged Contract Breach From Atlas Mara, Moves Court

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a noted businessman in Zambia with more than three decades of business experience. He has several successful businesses under his name including Mahtani Group of Companies and Finsbury Investments. He is also known for acquiring companies that are often at the dead-end stage and transforming them into premier businesses. His companies like Finance Bank Zambia and Portland Cement Zambia have remained top in their respective fields for a long time. However, working in a region like Zambia has its own pros and cons. While the pros are opportunity to grow with the province, the cons are dealing with corrupt government officials, bribery and unethical practices as well as dealing with companies and individuals who are focussed on their own profits at the expense of others.

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani faced similar issue after giving over the ownership of Finance Bank Zambia. Dr. Rajan Mahtani owned Finance Bank Zambia is a premier banking and financial organization in Zambia. The company achieved significant name and market share and after a time, Dr. Mahtani decided that it was time for giving back the financial institution so that Dr. Mahtani can focus on other financial aspects. However, things did not go as planned. In the year 2015, Finance Bank Zambia was given to Atlas Mara, a company owned by Bob Diamond. The takeover was established via an original purchase & sales agreement. However, it seems like the owners of Atlas Mara breached the terms of the agreement and Dr. Mahtani is yet to receive the payment against share sales of Finance Bank Zambia.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani has now approached the Omnia Strategy, an international law firm to take the case to London High Court.
